The National Writing Project at Carroll University

The National Writing Project at Carroll University is the oldest of three National Writing Project sites in Wisconsin. The National Writing Project is a network of more than 200 professional development programs based in universities throughout the United States. These programs are dedicated to teacher professionalism and improvement in the teaching of reading and writing. Since 1986 the National Writing Project at Carroll University has advanced three key principles of the National Writing Project:


1) Writing is fundamental to learning in all subject areas
2) Teachers are the best teachers of teachers
3) Teachers of writing must be writers
